Perfect day for a photoshoot…
On a beautifully sunny Saturday morning in September we shot our latest collection of dresses from the Blossom collection at Alexandra Gardens in Cardiff. The reflector we were using bounced the sunlight onto the gowns adding sparkle to the sequins and a glow to the girls’ faces. We just couldn’t have picked a better day! The photoshoot was an amazing experience so I thought I’d write a little bit about how the day went.
Firstly, I hope you love the new images along with the new website as much as I do! Planning a photoshoot is really exciting, but it’s also pretty hard work for example, getting the right team together, that can all work on the same day (we had a model pull out last minute), and finding the perfect location (our original location also dropped a bombshell on us a few days before), and then obviously making sure you get the images you’d envisioned out of it. Luckily for me I couldn’t have ended up with a more perfect team or location! We had so much fun! #dreamteam
Rhian Israel was our fabulous photographer and videographer for the day. In advance of the shoot I’d talked Rhian through the vibe I wanted to achieve, that would show the dresses off in all their glory. We focused on a simple, romantic feel. I had high expectations and didn’t she deliver!! I am over the moon with the images Rhian came back with.
We started our day early at the Milk and Blush headquarters in Cardiff Bay where all three of our models had their hair styled (also by Rhian - isn’t she just super talented!) with Milk and Blush hair extensions. We didn’t want anything too ‘done’ to take away from the dresses and Rhian just got it, we love the way she effortlessly styled the hair.
The models got dressed in the collection dresses and headed over to our shoot location. The most perfect garden in the centre of Cardiff, with so many backdrop options - from the flower beds to the trees, to the museum pillars and the grand steps. We arrived at Alexandra Gardens around 9am so it was still lovely and quiet with the odd tourist here and there and before the sun got too harsh.
Our models…. well, what can I say other than we love these girls! India, Gabriella (who is also Miss Wales 2019) and Mim worked so hard to get the shots. They’re all so naturally beautiful that there wasn’t any need for too much editing! Blessed with the most talented team, the day ran so smoothly!
Anyway, that’s just a little insight!
